Crib Check

A “crib check” is a slang term used on the internet to refer to when someone looks at someone else’s notes or cheats off of them to try to get an advantage in a test or game. It is a way of checking someone’s crib or cheat sheet to obtain information or answers. The term is commonly used in online gaming or academic settings.

Examples:

1. In an online multiplayer game:

Player1: How did he know exactly where I was hiding?
Player2: I think he did a crib check on your livestream and saw your hiding spot.

2. In a university discussion forum:

Student1: I’m so frustrated, I studied for hours for this exam and someone next to me did a crib check during the test!
Student2: That’s not fair at all! You should report it to the professor.
