Can Tab is a slang term used to refer to the pull tab or pop top found on the top of aluminum beverage cans.
The can tab is the small metal piece that is used to open a can by pulling it away from the lid. It is often shaped like a ring or a tab and is designed to be easily pulled to break the seal and allow access to the beverage inside the can.
Example 1: “Hey, can you pass me that can of soda and pop the can tab for me?”
Example 2: “I accidentally broke off the can tab while opening the can, now I have to use a utensil to drink from it.”
