Buchifresa is a Mexican slang term used to describe a person who presents themselves as wealthy or high-class, but lacks sophistication or genuine wealth. They may attempt to imitate the behaviors and appearance of upper-class individuals but often come across as pretentious or fake.

The term “buchifresa” combines two words: “buchis,” which means wealthy or spoiled, and “fresa,” which translates to strawberry but is slang for someone who is posh or snobbish. It is often used to criticize those who try too hard to fit into a higher social status but fail to meet the expectations associated with it.

Example sentences:
1. “Did you see Laura’s new designer handbag? She’s such a buchifresa, always trying to show off her wealth but everyone knows it’s fake.”
2. “Carlos thinks he’s so high-class with his expensive suits, but his manners and vocabulary give away the fact that he’s just a buchifresa.”
